Surviving an Attempted Suicide
Tuesday, September 9, 2025
One year ago (give or take a week) I attempted to commit suicide. It was a dark time in my life, and I wanted an easy out. I’m glad I survived. I am thankful for my wife, children, and all of my other friends and family who helped pull me out of that dark time.
They say that the night gets darkest before dawn, and I’m still here to say that is true. If you can find the strength to pull yourself through whatever hard times you are facing, you will be okay.
Something I learned, or rather re learned, was that it’s okay to ask for help. If you are struggling, know that you aren’t going through it alone. Do not be afraid to ask for help.
I am grateful that I’m still here today. All of the memories that I would have never made, all of the things I would have missed, are not taken for granted anymore.
Thank you for reading.
